Hi,
I have the latest version of After Effects but I am having some trouble with a Template I have been provided with.
I have been instrusted to us the Essential Graphics Panel for the Text changes which was working fine for the Font, Style Colour etc but when I went to "Edit Properties" and "Enable Font Size Adjustment" to change the Font Size nothing happens. It just changes the linked Guide layer.
If I double Click on the Layer and try yo change there or in text properties the same happens. The display text appears to be a very large number but I cant see where it is set anywhere.
It seems bug like if it is editing hte other text properties not problem but not the font size. I have a little experieve with After Effects but still learning. If anybody had any guidance on this it would be muc appreciated.
Thank you.

There seems to be a problem with changing font size in After Effects using the Essential Graphics Panel. Instead, try adjusting the font size directly in the Character panel or use simple expressions for now.

Thanks for your reply - Its not connected to the main text visable on the screen, it is a guide layer and will only edit the guide text - if I edit it in Character it only edits guide text and if I try and delete it to create a new Text Layer Text appears that I cant get rid of that says "add and Input Text Layer in Effects Controls Panel"

Unfortunatyely it is not a bug but by design, or at least it a limitation.
This page (about halfway down explains): https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/after-effects/using/creating-motion-graphics-templates.html
When you add a text layer to the Essential Graphics panel, you can modify and control the font family, font style, size, and faux styles of that layer in a Motion Graphics template. Adding these controls ensures that the editors working with Motion Graphic templates in Premiere Pro have access to only needed text properties.
I take this to mean that when you export an Essential Graphic as a Motion Graphic, these property control are passed over, but only then.
If you want to adjust things like font sizes, you'll need to use the Set Style expression options. For Essential Graphics, I've found it best to have a "hidden" text layer be the source for the Essential Graphics panel and another visible textlayer whose source and style are driven by expressions.
