I have a HDMI monitor hooked up to my Mac Pro (AMD Radeon Ppro Vega II), but After Effects (22.2.1) can not make use of it as a preview monitor. It just does not show up in Preferences/Video Preview.

Does anyone know how to get it back to work?

Probably soemthing to do with inadequate/ incompatible hardware acceleration. Of course your options on a mac are limited, but try to obtain a newer driver for your AMD GPU.

I think 'drivers' are tradionally part of MacOS.

AMD does not offer downloads other than for Windows and Linux.
