How to change rotation axis of an object

This is probably a stupid question, but i don't know how to change the center point of an object. By that i mean the point it rotates around, changes size from and does other types of transformations from. Could anyone tell me how to do it? The default is in the far corner of the object and i want it in the middle.

Inn the toolbar you can select the Pan Behind (Anchor Point) Tool to change the anchor point of layers.
