Please assit. There appears to be no instructions available on Adobe Forums or YouTube regarding saving a Lumetri preset in After Effects. Yes, there are lots of instructions available for saving Lumetri presets in Premiere Pro, but this is not what I seek. In Pr all end users seem to do is right click on Lumetri and then save the preset. However, in AE 24.1.0 right clicking on Lumetri does not offer an option to save a preset. Moreover, it would appear AE will not save Lumetri presets via Animation/ Save Animation Preset. Why not?
Adobe, in an attempt to find a solution to this issue I have just lost fifty minutes contacting one of your support agents ("Parthasarathi"), who twice "left the conversation" without a conversation being had. This text service is flakey at the best of times.

I just worked it out. After Effects do not permit Lumetri presets to be saved in individual clip folders, as I can do when saving plugins' presets. Rather, AE requires Lumetri presets to be saved in the Adobe folder within the Documents folder on Macs.

If you want the Animation Presets you create to show up in the Effects and Presets panel, you must use the Folder Structure that Adobe has set up. The folder structure is not identical because Windows machines do not put things in a Documents folder by default. Nothing is stopping you from creating subfolders in the default custom presets folder. Personally, I have created a Dropbox alias for My Custom Presets and set up about 40 folders to organize my more than 200 animation presets. This lets me access any of my presets from any machine on my network or access them when I am working offsite.
There is nothing preventing any animation preset saved in any folder from being used. I often create animation presets for clients, zip them up, and send them. They can be added from the Animation menu. They are just not visible in the Effects and presets panel unless you put them in the right folder and then refresh the list.
