I'm going to be starting a role as a motion designer with an agency in two weeks' time. It will be a fully remote role, working 40 hours a week, and others have said it will be pretty fast-paced, as agencies tend to be. I want to come in as prepared as I can, what are some things I can do to prepare myself for this opportunity, or steps I can take to give myself a better chance from the get-go?
It is pretty hard to give you any meaningful advice without knowing your experience level, your background, and the agency's goals and style.
I'll give you some pointers.

I could go on and on, but you get the idea. If you understand people, history, and art, and you listen to the people around you and try to learn as much as you can from everyone you are working with, you will do fine.

Thank you for the feedback Rick, a lot of what you suggested boils down to people skills, which is always going to be important in any collaborative role. Would you be comfortable if I message you, giving you more the sort of details you'd mentioned at the beginning of your post? I'd really value the opportunity to gather a bit more of your thoughts.
