This has been discussed here at length already, but if you want to ask Adobe to bring it back, you'll have much more luck posting it here: After Effects: Hot (1010 ideas) – Adobe video & audio apps

That is not likely to happen for several reasons. The first is that when Apple introduced QuickTime 7 they dropped support for a lot of things including h.264 compression. Second, it was only available through Quicktime. Third, H.264 encoding uses intraframe compression. That means that a GOP (group of pictures) form of compression is used. At best the picture before and the picture after is used to calculate the contents of each pixel and based on that comparison. The Render Cue does not look at multiple frames to make those calculations, it only looks at one frame at a time so the quality of the compression is never going to be as good or as dependable as a rendering solution that can look back one or two frames and forward one or two frames to make those calculations. That is one of the reasons Apple dropped support for h.264 in Quicktime.

They've effectively addressed the situation. If you need that functionality I do recommend AfterCodecs - brings ProRes, h.264, and HAP capabilities to AE, Premiere, and AME
