Image sequence flickering

New Here ,

Hello AE Community!

I am using AE 2022 and having an issue with importing image sequences. I have several image sequences, each comprised of 100 jpegs, which I'm putting into one composition. However, periodically these image sequences flicker/flash, i.e. there will be a couple frames in the image sequence which appear much too light or too dark, even though the image sequence contains no such variation. This happens in the actual AE program, when I open and preview the image sequence as a layer, as well as in the final rendering.

I've tried purging the cache and frame mixing but neither seems to help. The only thing that solves it is re-importing the image sequence.

Has anyone encountered this or have any ideas? Thank you!

Without any specific info about your settings in AE and things like footage interpretation, color management, hardware acceleration and so on nobody can tell you much. From mundane GPU issues to specific color management stuff this could be anything. Check these things. Also start by actually using a different file format like TIFF or PSD for a test. Another thing to check is whether the files actually contain odd metadata, especially if they are directly from a camera. This has been known to throw off AE occasionally and the data me need to be stripped. For anything beyond that more info would be required.
