i have a project with hundreds of dissolves

i need to import all of the timeline into after effects to work on each clip.

right now cross dissolves doesnt not cross over to after effects as opacity keyframes.

i`m looking for a work around here, because manually doing so to each layer is literally toture

any ideas ?

Whe you could do is bring all the layers into After Effects and use Keyframe Assistant - Sequence Layers to set them up
Then you could apply an expresison that automatically dissolves the layers on top by the amount of frames at the end of layer. (if that makes sense)

this is not what i mean. there are better way to reapply opacity fades in
after effects
with expressions or just copy and paste keyframes to the layers.
but this is not what i`m asking for.
I just want to import the timeline with the fades already in.
usually there are fades in each project the goes from premiere to ae, and
as a consistent workflow i need to redo the fades on each clip. manually,
this is not a problem, but i`m looking for a way to simply the process.
so my idea was a plugin or extension in premiere that can convert the
dissolves into opacity keyframe which *IS* transferable into AE

I don't have a one-click solution, but here are a couple of workarounds that might help speed up your workflow:

1. Importing the Premiere Pro project into After Effects:

  • Use File > Import > Import Premiere Pro Project in After Effects.
  • Cross dissolves will typically be interpreted as three separate layers: one for Clip A, one for Clip B (including their overlapping sections), and a third layer representing the dissolve itself (usually a black solid).
  • You can then manually keyframe the opacity of the A or B clips in After Effects based on their overlap.

2. Prepping the timeline in Premiere Pro before sending to After Effects:

  • Export the imported Premiere project from After Effects using File > Export > Export Adobe Premiere Pro Project.
  • In Premiere, create two opacity presets: one for fade-in and one for fade-out, with Type set to Scale.
  • Apply the appropriate preset to the cross dissolve solid, extend the solid to match the clip duration, then copy and paste the opacity keyframes onto the clip.
