Can I import a .psd file with layers (created in CS6 Photoshop) to CC2018 After Effects for animation?

Yes, you can. The PSD format hasn't really changed in ages, at least where the features AE uses are concerned. Just make sure to save the PSD with the maximum compatibility settings enabled.
