Inner glow and bump map issues in After Effects

Hi,

I'm having an issue very early in to the excellent Crossfire tutorial from Andrew at video copilot.

I've added an inner glow to a text character, then a cc glass effect layer to get a kind of bump map as per the tutorial. However, my bump map seems to pick up what looks like the bounding box for the text character also. If you can see the thin lines in the bottom right corner and where the character doesn't extend all the way to the bounds, these shouldn't be there. Totally at a loss with this so any help much appreciated.
