Intel or AMD

New Here ,
Oct 17, 2021 Oct 17, 2021

Hello eveybody,

I am about to buy a new computer where I want to use After Effects and I understand litle about processors and graphics. I am looking at two similar computers where the only diference is  the processor and graphic chip and the price difference is 180 euros. I understand that the AMD is better but will it make a big diference on the after effects? Do you think that with the Intel I can manage just fine?

Processor: Intel Core I 3 10 gen

Graphics: Intel UHD Graphic

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3500U

Graphics: AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics

Thanks for your help 🙂

I wouldn't bother with anything below an i5. AE make not particularly take advantage of parallele processing and multithreading, but it's not a slim office app, either. Some juice is required. A Ryzen 5 is definitely the better choice, even more so since your intel computer seems to offer no dedicated GPU, which is crucial for some hardware accelerated stuff.
