Is there an equivalent to add anchor points in AE just like in Illustrator?

One document is Illustrator and the other is AE, in Illustrator by selecting this command it adds anchor points on the path of the shape evenly spaced. Is there a way to do it in AE?

Just like you need to "expand" stuff in AI to make it editable, parametric shapes need to be converted to regular paths for such operations. I suggest you read the online help on these matters:
