Generating crash log, which may take a few minutes.
I just noticed this error after maybe updating to Mac OS Monterey. My After Effects is the latest version too.
After Effects 22.0

Was getting error on opening AE 2021 on Big Sur.
Updated to Monerey and AE 2022 and still recieved error.

Nope — have been searching, but haven't found anything. It seems to be a recent problem.
I do have an older macbook with Catalina and AE 2021 that works fine, so it may be an OS issue?

If you have AE juice then you need to update it. I was recieving the same error and its actually this one script thats causing the crash.

Hi all.
I couldn't find an answer within this thread that helped me but found that deleting all the plugins sorted the problem. On Mac go to Macintosh HD/Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore and delete all plugins within there. I loaded up AE, re-installed the plugins that I need and it was fixed.
This was on my Mac M1 Mini on Monterey 12.3.1.

THANK YOU!! This solved my startup issues as well. The alternative of enabling "Open using Rosetta" wasn't cutting it for me. I want the full power of the M1 chip. Thanks!
