May you show us the code, so we can check it?

Most likely a semicolon is missing or some other syntax error.

Hi Martin - wirdly its working now. I tried typing it again then chos pingpog from a menu that appeared and it worked.

Seems like it doesnt work if i paste the expression in as a text but does work if i selecting from menu. This seems liek a new addition?

I doubt this - most likely a syntax error, like missing quotes or semicolon or even a spelling error. Stuff you find online is not always correct.

Jbrox is right. I just had the same issue and the copy paste is what was doing it. I guess After Effects doens't like copy pasting into the expressions bar anymore.

Where were you copying from?  I have to be quite careful with online tutorials as websites often replace any " with curlier versions - which don't works in expressions.
