MOGRT timecode input

I've written an expression that I can use to convert timecodes (inserted in Premiere by an editor) into frames. However, I do this via a text field that takes up a lot of space in Premiere. So it would be great if there was a way to enter digits that worked without decimals and sliders.
Does someone know a workaround? Any Ideas?

I would love to have a time control effect in expression controls!

Unfortunately not. Unless you turn it into a slider of course. Text fields in essential graphics simply use a fixed layout in the palette.
