Whenever any sort of mosaic effect (s_mosaic and bcc mosaic) is used on any video format in timeline, it crashes after effects, It does this in both '23 and '24 versions. NOT only does it crash it, but when I remove the effect from the project altogether and continue editing, about 5-7 minutes in the project crashes with no report or anything and I am forced to terminate the program as if the file is now corrupted and all my work is gone.  I enabled logging in help since no log file was being created in the roaming path.  Here is a link to the log file created: log .

Sorry to hear about the crash, chivoh.

Are you on macOS or Windows? Does it happen with Mosaic effects that come with After Effects as well? Or only with the third-party effects? Can you check if there's an update available for the third-party effects?

Let us know. Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.

Thanks,
Nishu

Thanks for sharing the details. It could be related to the GPU driver. Try installing the latest Studio driver if you're not using it already.

Do you mind reaching out to the plug-in manufacturer to see if they can help?

Let us know how it goes.

Looking at the logfile, it appears you are using multiple effects which are not compatible with your GPU/Driver (perhaps the Studio Driver update will help).

Also, it appears you have an issue accessing the directory specified for AE's disc cache: Perhaps try specifying a different directory for AE's disc cache.

To change the location of the media cache, go to After Effects Preferences > Media & Disk Cache.

Let us know how it goes.
