New Ae Tutorial: What Nerds know about Separating Dimensions in After Effects

When you separate dimension in After Effects, instead of a single position property, a layer has two separate properties for x and y position. Most people assume that this is just a cosmetic difference in the user interface, but it is much more than that! It actually changes completely how After Effects interpolates from one keyframe to the next one. If you are not sure when to separate dimensions and what it does with your keyframes, watch this tutorial!

If you want to dive deeper into the tricky details of keyframing, I recommend the section Keyframing in After Effects of my FREE eBook Motion Graphics in After Effects that Speaks to your Brain.
