Hi,
Has anyone used After Effects on the new Mac Mini? If so, does it work well? I'm about to purchase a new Mini, which has 16GB of ram (they don't come with more) and an Apple M1 chip.

no specific info, just general observations: At this point M1 Macs suck. AE is not in any way fully compatible with them and you are in for a lot of trouble, both to blame on Apple and Adobe. If you can delay the purchase, then do so.

Adobe tells me After Effects will work if I run it through the Rosetta 2 Equalizer which comes with the Mini Mac. We shall see. Not a fan of Adobe support. I had to do a "Karen" and get the supervisor on the phone after the service rep told me, Mini Mac, is not compatible, (two days before I was told it was) she then pulled out the info about the Rosetta 2.
