Open Cineware effect project in After 2025 ?

Hello,
I have a project made in After 24.1.0 that I would like to be able to open on the latest version of After (2025) but I get a message telling me that projects using the Cineware effect are not compatible with other versions. My question is, is there a way to easily identify compositions in this project that use this effect so that I can delete them and then be able to open this project in After Effects 2025?
Thank you in advance if you can help me!

Sorry that you're running into the issue. What's the error that you get? 24.1 had an issue that was fixed in 24.2, but the files created in 24.1 are not compatible with any other available version of After Effects. You can install the 24.1 from the Creative Cloud desktop app. It'll be a separate install, so the latest version of After Effects will stay intact.

Hope it helps.

Thanks,
Nishu

Thank you for this clarification.
This is already the "solution" I am currently using (a version of after effects 24.1 for this specific project and the 2025 version for my more recent projects) but I would prefer to use the 2025 version for all my projects. Is there no way to open projects created on version 24.1 on version 2025...?

Not that I am aware of. You can try this:

1. Open the project in 24.1.

2. Go to File > Save a copy as 23.x.

3. Open this file in the 25.x.

I have not tried this, so I am not sure if it'll work. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,
Nishu

Thanks for giving it a try. Do you mind sharing the original project file with me so that I can test it on my end? Feel free to share via DM if you do not want to share publicly.

Thanks,
Nishu
