Painting in After Effects is only working periodically...Pls Helo

Hi if someone could please help me it would be so appreciated.

I am sure that I am making some rookie era but here is the problem.

I have a clip in Premiere Pro, I selected replace with AE composition, I painted on some circles, I hit save and went back to PP and the circles were there.

All normal.

Then I selected edit original on the same clip, went back and added more lines and circles in the exact same manner as the first lot.

But nothing new will show up in PP.

In AE when I scrub past they are all there. They just won't go into PP.

Any help would be amazing, thanks

You may need to flush the caches in both programs to enforce a proper re-rendering of everything.
