pen tool makes strange shape

When I use "pen tool" in aftereffects, it automatically creates a white and gray mosaic-like shape.

What I want to make is just a line shape pointed 2 times by pen tool.

What should I do?

You are zoomed in 400% or more and have a default stroke assigned to your path. If course this will look huge when you are zoomed in so much. That's all there is to it. You may want to read the online help on the basics. Simply zoom out and work at 100%.
