Picking a value at specific time with trimmed protected region

Hey there!

I´m doing some responsive design and struggle with the following problem:

I have a nested Comp with protected Region and a Slider Control keyframing from 100 to 0.

What I am using to try is to look with the opacity of a text layer to look into the slider value at the specific time in the trimmed(!) precomp. I know, that my expression there could not work, because it´s doing what it should and look on the valueAtTime in the precomp and is only for illustrative purposes to get the idea. I hope you understand, what I want to try 😄

I would be very, very thankful for any hint!!

Thank you very much in advance!!

Not going to work either way. Exprtessions have no way of accounting for responsive regions and how you manipulate them in Premiere. Therefore this ultimately becomes an "All or nothing" case where it will have to be rigged with valueAtTime() expressions and foregoing protected regions with any "trims" simply being extra sliders in the essential graphics panel so they can be figured into the math. not intuitive, but doable.

Allright thank you so far,

tought there might be a way, because there must be a time reference. But I´m not a programmer so I don´t have a clue, how the protected regions work.

I hoped to acces by numKey expression, but everything I try is using the timecode of the preComp 😕

I will find a workaround.

Thank you!
