Playback stutter After Effects

I am a editor trying to edit videos for my boss but when ever I try and play a video in after effects it stutter the playback after hitting 1 second on the timeline. I it also happens when I work on premire and then send a clip to after effects via "Replace with after effects composition".

How confident are you that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for After Effects and Premiere Pro?

pretty confident. But I am sure that I do need a new PC still.
