Hi, I am working on a specific file made in Illustrator and when I import it into the AE, the preview is black and it's not able to render the frames in the preview panel. I have tried soloing some layers and toggling visibility, but they are just temporary solutions. I am trying to contemplate the problem but all efforts have gone in vain.

Here is the file. any solution would be very helpful

Thanks

- Maneesh

I looked at the file, and there are five frames in a comic book layout. I checked your AEP project, and the project has been edited only to show the 4th frame. I don't have any preview problems importing the file as a composition retaining layer size using AE 23.4 on an M2 Macbook Pro. I also have no problems opening the project file in your download.

I would create five different Illustrator files from the original, with each comic book frame on a single artboard. I would also make sure that each of the artboards was set to a standard video frame size so that all of the artwork was properly prepared and sized for use in video production.

Other than that, I have no problems with the file. I suggest that you try changing your GPU settings, setting comp resolution to Auto, and possibly updating AE or rolling back a version.

Thanks Rick! I will check by breaking up the frames into normal size--
