I'm relativly new to after effects and I've been  having a problem with the preview getting stuck after just a few frames and & then starting over again with previewing just a few frames and not the full clip. (attached a video file of the problem). Am i doing something wrong or what could the issue be, appreciate all help!

Can you open the Info panel and see what it is reporting? That just looks like an out of memory situation, but hard to know without the info panel.

How much memory do you have on your system?

AE's minimum RAM is now 16GB's so you're going to run into a lot of memory issues with AE 2024 and that's what I'm seeing from the screen shots. It also looks like you're working with 4K footage which is going to eat up a lot of your memory quickly. If you can't upgrade your system with more memory, you'll want to work in Quarter resolution during compositing as much as you can, and make sure you aren't running any other Adobe apps (Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, Photoshop, etc.). so that AE can have as much memory as possible. If you don't have to work at 60fps, going down to 30fps or below will help get more frames into memory for playback. Other options - keep your compositions at short as possible, make proxies to use a reduced footage resolution, etc.

Thanks for letting me know, will upgrade my RAM to 32GB. Lowering the fps and working in quarter resolution also helped, strangly enough though, I didn't have any of these issues around a month ago when I just got After Effects.
