Hello All,

I am new to After Effects and have searched for answers online for my issue but I cannot seem to figure out why the cache is running up my Ram and making the playback horrible. My computer has 32 gbs of Ram in it and I am running GPU accerleration with my RTX 2060. For example just to test this I put in a clip that is 47 seconds long and the Ram is being 80% used if I added anything else it would easily go to 99%.

I also went ahead and even disabled caching in after effects started a new project and put the clip in and it still caches and runs up the RAM. I believe there is some kind of settings issue or this could be a bug I am not sure. If anyone could help thanks!

Turn off multiframe rendering and speculative caching. Also double- and triple-check your graphics driver and hardware acceleration settings. Unwanted memory consumption often comes down to leaky drivers and eventually AE might just crash.

Agree with what Mylenium said. Let us know if the suggestion helps. Also, does it happen with all the projects? What's the version of your OS? Are you using any third-party plug-ins?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Nishu
