Hello!
I have a problem with RAM preview in Ae.
At some point, the preview stops working and only manual scrolling works.
I tried everything that is usually advised in this case:
1) clearing the cache does not help
2) clearing memory does not help
3) restarting the project does not help
4) "eye" on the preview panel is active
5) enabling / disabling multi-core rendering does not help
6) enabling / disabling the cache does not help
7) changing the resolution of the preview does not help (which is full, half, third, quarter, etc.)
Only a complete restart of Ae helps from this, which greatly complicates my work.
I have 64 GB of memory, so I can't suspect a lack of memory in any way. For Ae, 58 GB is allocated. The cache is located on a fast HBME SSD (not a system disk), there is also enough space.
I
have the latest versions of Adobe, Windows and drivers. What could be the problem?
Please help I'm tired of this...
PC Specs:
Lenovo Legion 7 16ACHg6
CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX (3,30 GHz)
RAM - 64 Gb HyperX (DDR4 3,2 GHz 2x32 Gb)

Windows 11 (v22H2)

I am having the same problem and have the same system with the exception that I have 64GB of Crucial RAM. I am also running Win11 and the latest builds and drivers.

That is unexpected.
Does anything show in the System Compatiblity Report (Help > System Compatiblity Report)?
How does After Effects behave while in Safe Mode?
What else is running while After Effects is in use?
How does After Effects behave if you Solo all of the Layers? If you un-solo the Layers while the Preview is running one at a time, allowing it to complete the full Work Area before you in-solo the next Layer?
Have you tried looking for an effect that may not be releasing memory properly?

Are you still having the issue? Let us know.
I am moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for now.
Thanks,

Yes, I still have this problem from time to time. This has begun to happen less frequently, but it does happen sometimes.
I noticed that this happens very often when I quickly press the spacebar several times to start and stop the preview. It’s as if the program doesn’t have time to process the request and because of this the preview freezes. Maybe this is my guess, but it seemed to me that there is such a dependence.
