Renaming a shape

I'm trying to rename a shape in a shape layer. "Ellipes 1" and "Ellipse 2" just aren't very easy to keep straight.

This OUGHT to be possible. In fact, I believe I've done it before.

It IS possible, isn't it?

You can rename all elements in AE. Just press Enter with one element selected and change it.
