Render and export error with puppet tool and rasterization (Cached preview needs 2 or more frames..)

Hi everyone,

I am making an animation in AE 22.1.1. on a Macbook Pro 2021 M1 10CPU 16GB.

I was having problems with the classic 'Cached preview needs 2 or more frames to playback' error and have pinned down the problem to the following:

• AI composition layer causes error > fixed when Continously Rasterized is turned OFF. However I need this to work of course.
• Within the AI composition I had the same problem, until I toggled Puppet engine to Legacy and back to Advanced. (https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911311-after-effects/suggestions/35355625-puppet-tool-stops...) then it worked with Rastarized ON.
• BUT when I go back to the main comp and I turn Continously Rasterized ON again, it stops working, even though it works within the comp.

This results in:

• The Cached preview error.
• When I render the video it shows a black screen for the part where the AI comp is in.
• When I export the video it cuts off and doesn't show an error message.

I feel like I've come really close to the answer, but I'm not quite there. Anyone who can help me with this?

I have fixed it by pre-rendering the AI comp and choosing 'Import & Replace usage" as the post-render action!!

October 13th and puppet pin still not working with raster options...
