Rotating 3D Logo (shape/outlines), not text) Cylinder

Hey everyone, would anyone know a way to make a rotating 3D Logo (shape/outlines, not text) in cylindrical form? 

Each way I try, I seem to get errors whether I start with the CC cylinder effect first, and then try to get it 3D by turing on the tool in the layer switches, or vice versa.

You may want to save yourself some frustration by jumping into Cinema 4D (which comes with After Effects if added during install) and creating it there.
