Roto Brush

Im fairly new to After Effects and currently learning to make Ali Abdaal style videos. When i Roto Brush subject and make with paper rip transition, everything work fine, but when i try to push all subject layers and paper transition layers down, so paper texture can fit on whole screen, it appears that paper rip fully dissapear and subject's background fills half the screen. I tried moving layers up and down, but nothing appears to work.
