scaling down a character rig

New Here ,
May 29, 2024 May 29, 2024

hi, i just made a character and rigged is. This was all done in 6000x6000pixel composition. I now need to scale it down to fit a 1920x1080 composition. I already tried connecting all the layers that are not parented to and null and scale it down, but that doesn't work for me. Is there something i am not doing correct or is there another way of doing it?

Maybe precompose it and then changing the size of the precomp to 1920x1080. More info would be helpful.

Yes, it may be the simpler solution but not the most efficient one. Currently, you are always attempting to render a 6000x6000 pixel composition scaled down to 1029x1080, which can result in slow performance. It is better to scale down the composition if the extra high resolution is not needed.

To use the scale composition script in After Effects, follow these steps:

1. Go to File > Scripts > Scale Composition.

2. Set the height to 1080 pixels.

3. Manually change the width to 1920 pixels.

Make sure to have a camera in your composition if you are using a 3D layer.
