Shape Random Color change

At 0:38, is there any way to do this with after effects? I tried repeater, but can't seem to randomize this color change.

With Shape Layers and its Repeater Operator, you'll have to Unbake the repeater so that each dot appears on its own layer. THere's a free script to do this - https://github.com/ae-scripting/shapeRepeaterBaker?tab=License-1-ov-file#readme

But a Text Layer might be a better option and can be very quick to set.

I've also got a set of add-ons/scripts that can do this sort of thing a lots more and with lots of control over keyframe timing without touching a single keyframe - even while setting up the animation for hundreds of layers.
