Can someone please explain to me why my snap to tool has a mind of it's own?
As you can see from the screen shot the rectangle points and sitting in random places in relation to the guides. These positions are After Effects idea of snapping to the guides which are clearly completely wrong.
These functions simply never worked reliably to begin with and these days they simply break every other release when the devs futz around with the drawing functions. There's a chance it might get fixed/ magically work again in an upcoming update. Until then you can only rely on working ar 100% zoom, importing everything pre-made e.g. from Illustrator or dialling in values numerically where possible. Also check your hardware acceleration stuff and graphics driver as well as input device settings and drivers e.g. for tablets. Apparently this stuff works for some users without a hitch, so flipping a few switches or using newer drivers may fix things.
I thought that was probably the case but I'm a newbie so wasn't sure. It's amazing how the fundamentals can not work and yet the updates get released, not what we pay good money for :).
