After Effects Updated to 23.4 receiving this error. System is just running fine and smoothly. Adobe ... not.

We can certainly investigate this further for you.

Are you currently utilizing a VPN? Sometimes, network configurations or restrictions can interfere with software operation. If possible, try connecting your computer to a different network and see if that resolves the issue.

No, this is a BUG!
Do not move this.
Solve it finally, I need this to work!!
Issues differ from machine to machin, fact: it does not work for many many users here in the forum.
I do not have a VPN configured at all. This is solely an issue with adobe developers who are not able to figure out.
Mainly Ae and Premiere related. Get this sorted folks, you are paid to fix this.

I am assuming that the repost that you did on the 25th did not resolve the issue since you are posting today @M.X.H ? Also - do you use both Premiere and AE and are you experiencing syncing issues in both?

Is this a normal CCD (creative cloud desktop) install of After Effects, and you are logged into CCD?

uhm, i worke with adobe products forbover 20 yrs now, i hope i can distinguish from installations and my correct credentials. And again, no there is no VPN configured.

Hello @M.X.H,

I ask, because some installs do not require going through CCD though I believe CCD login is required for Sync Settings to function, not just AE.

Also, do you use Premiere and AE and is this an issue in both products or just one for you? This information will help in narrowing down where the issue is (common code vs product specific).

pardon, I wrote my former reply from a mobile device.
Well, since there aren't many apps that have snyc setting available https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/sync-settings.html

For Example In Pr 23 i got an error code 0,00
After updating to 24 i got an error code -516

Ae does not show an error code at all and eventually just crashes while spinning the beach ball.

Media encoder just does nothing.


In my case is does not work for me for Pr, Ae, and not even Media Encoder.

So, since I am not the only one here in this forum facing this issue, I suggest you should do a clean up of the Documents folder anyway since this is a major mess too by default. Why you guys are throwing this in into my otherwise tidy documents folder after installation? Many files do not belong there. And Windows configurations for example are not named according to my custom configuration. Also Metedate display setting are not reflects anywhere. This is very sloppy wrorking dear Adobe. I do not wonder why syncing does not work at all.
Wor all day and all night long and get this sorted finaly within next update. Do you hear me.
I'm already learning DaVinci App to switch in case you don't get this done soon.
