I am hoping someone can help me with this mind-boggling problem.
I created a rectangle shape and used only the stroke.
I then converted the path to a bezier path.
With create nulls from paths I traced its path.
Turne of the loop of the trace path , deleted the progress and pick whipped it to the end trim path of the rectangular shape.
The null object seems to move correctly only in the opposite direction of the rectangles trim path?
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong here?

Solved it!
I was correct about the trim path offset and I found the 'Set first vertex" function to change the beginning of the trimming path so I don't had to change the offset. Now the null is moving correctly.
Thanks for the help.

When you use the Create Nulls from Path/Trace script the created null has 2 keyframes. The default direction is counterclockwise. To change direction select both keyframes, use the Animation/Keyframe Assistant/Time-Reverse Keyframes menu, or Right Click on a keyframe to get to the Keyframe Assistant.

Still not a lot better. it seems it's not only counter clockwise (which is an odd default in my opinion) the starting point also seems mirrored and flipped horizontally. I'm trying to wrap my head around this but I am having a difficult time.
When you just have a line path and make a null there is no problem at all. So I made a rectangle manually with the pen tool hoping it would work but same problem again..? I'm starting to think it might have to do with the starting point of the trim path. In the rectangle it was offset by -197 to make it start in the lower left corner. However when I manually draw a rectangle with the pen tool starting in that low left corner the trim path still starts in the upper right corner when applied. Is this also a default?
