Track from AE to Cinema 4D

Community Beginner ,
Sep 07, 2018 Sep 07, 2018

This has been happening for over a year now and no one has been able to help me, so I figured I'd try again.

Everytime I export my track from AE to Cinema 4D ( full version) my track looks right but when I try to drop an object in the scene,

it doesn't match. This happens every. single. time.

When AE I do everything right.

1. I always establish my origin points.

2. I always transfer my nulls, solids, and cameras.

3. I always put black solids over things moving in the foreground so it doesnt confuse the track.

But somehow it always ends up like this:https://youtu.be/qf12J-VZTpM

Someone help, please!

I think your workflow is flawed. I don't think you are exporting the camera correctly. Here's a tutorial I threw together in about 10 minutes a long time ago that shows the basics. Sorry, there is no audio and it's extremely basic:

I fixed the link. It was a private link now it's public. And I'm not sure how to embed a video. But if you click it, it works.

You click the "share" button under the video and then choose "embed".  Then copy the html code (ctrl/cmd+c). come back here click the insert video button and paste (ctrl/cmd + v) the code into the field and hit done.

Or you could google "how do I embed a youtube video"

As i can see your null object works well with camera movement so you must apply same position of the null to the box than adjust the size of box to fit the look you want

As Rick says, the method you have used is not quite right. Here’s a tutorial with audio where I explain a very straightforward way of using the 3D Camera Tracker;

Here’s also another course I dis on using the Camera Tracker specifically with C4D to place objects into your shots;
