TRAPCODE PARTICULAR HELP - WISPY FIRE TRAIL

Hi, I need some help creating something very close to this fire/light trail from Kung Fu Panda. In particular the look of the wispy firey trail and secondly the 2 trails twisting/wrapping around each other.

I know my way around the basics of Trapcode Particular, and how to create particles following a path, but I have not used it to produce anything that looks like this, more just magical/fairy dust style.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
