Hi, I just spoke with Red Giant about this and they had me watch one of Harry Frank's tutorial videos on using particular with motion paths, but it's not working for me at all. As instructed I followed steps to assign the particular effect to a light layer titled Motion path 1. I did this by assigning the layer in Physics>Air>1. However I keep getting an error message that no such layer can be found (see image showing timeline and error message.
And then I have a second problem, assuming I can get the effect to see the layer. In the motion path Edit Target section, Motion path 1 layer is greyed out, presumably because it's a light layer, but I/m not sure. I've also attached a screen sure of that window.
All I want to do is assign a smoke trail to dynamically follow a motion tracked target. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thank you! I figured that out this morning. Now I'm hoping someone might help me with the other issue. I spent two hours in a chat session with Red Giant tech support and they couldnt resolve it. The after effects motion tracker wont recognise the light layer when I attempt to assign it as my target. Motion Path 1 is greyed out.
I'm simply trying to attach the emmiter point of a particular smoke trail to the end of a severed cable shot on green screen. I've tracked the cable and have the motion path ready to go.
Update: As a workaround, I assigned the effect to a Light layer, then pick whipped the light layer to a Null object, which contains my motion thracked keyframes. Dont know if this is the right workflow.
Thank you again for taking the time, if you have it.
