Take a trip through space, flying past stars to observe amazing nebula up close and in 3D.
In this video, I've collaborated with @Astrobloke to create an animated sequence based on his astrophotography. I walk you through the basics of how to take a 2D image of a nebula and use After Effects to arrange it in 3D space and then cut out various elements of it to create a sense of depth. Once that's done, I show how to create a virtual camera and fly around the nebula.
Finally, I add some 3D stars from an earlier tutorial, a lens flare and a neat trick to create even more sense of depth. Along the way, I also share tips like how to use Adobe Express.
This is part 1 of a two-part tutorial (there was just too much to cover for one video). If all goes well, part two will be released on Monday 30th January.
