'Unable to Acquire Rendered Frame' 3D Cam Error MacOS Sonoma 14.4.1

So I've been racking my brain trying to solve this problem for awhile first by checking other community posts, but it seems to have been to no avail.

I am trying to use the 3D camera to apply some basic floating text effects without the hassle of keyframing (that's a big part of what it's for, right?). But for some reason, every time I try to apply it, it gives me this at around frame 10-16 of analyzing, usually frame 16.

Some info for my setup and program settings:

- Binned M3 Max 14 inch MacBook Pro w/ 36gb of RAM running MacOS Sonoma 14.4.1

- 4000x3000 25fps GoPro Hero Black 11 Footage (mp4)

- Comp Settings match pixel size and FPS of the footage

- After Effects Version 24.3

So far I have tried the following, naturally to no effect:

- Restarting my Mac and trying again

- Starting After Effects in Safe Mode

- Changing the 3D Renderer to Advanced 3D

- Copying ALL of the files from my working drive and directly onto the computer's hard drive and opening the project file that way.

- Rendering a JPEG Sequence and using the 3D Camera on that instead (same error)

- Double Checked app permissions

- The suggestions from nishu_kush in this discussion post about the topic, however I was unable to even find the first set of folders he lays out, and every important file or folder seems to have proper Read and Write permissions

While I do have a Windows machine that I can use, I am without internet to update the latest versions of...well everything until next week. To say the least, I am very frustrated that this problem exists on Mac. I have seen many posts in responses to others with similar issues that say something to the effect of:

"Well, you updated too early, you should've saved a backup. Things always break when a new MacOS version come out."

While I understand that this has always been the case with MacOS and with more software than just Adobe, it makes using Adobe Software that much more frustrating.

What if I was not so fortunate to have a desktop to use?

Why should I keep paying so much money every year for this entire suite that I will never ACTUALLY own if I can't even be sure that the most basic functions of the software will or will not work if Apple (god forbid) decides to ship any updates to their computers?

Rant aside, if there is any additional information I should provide, or there are any solutions that I should try that I haven't yet, I am of course open to suggestions. Otherwise, hopefully this post gets some traction and can motivate Adobe to actually ship a bug fix to this problem.

And while I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program yet, no, I don't think that should be considered an 'acceptable' solution to this problem. If it comes down to it, I'll of course do that, but still. Maybe I'm ignorant and frustrated but I'll cool down eventually.

Thanks for any help, let's figure this out.

Hi Zack,

macOS has two different libraries. Here's how you can locate them to find the folders you mentioned above.

If that doesn't help, check out the following article on the similar topic: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-discussions/3d-camera-tracker-error-unable-to-obtain-dy...

Let us know how it goes.

I'll move the post from Bugs to Discussions while we troubleshoot.

Thanks,

Nishu
