so Im currently trying to edit a video and I need to hear my microphone audio in order to time stuff properly. however i cant hear my microphone in after effects.
I can hear the gameplay perfectly fine and my microphone audio is able to be heard in preimere pro
Ive already gone through many tutorials on how to fix the issue but none have worked so far
I use NVIDIA Shadowplay to record my audio and I have two seperate tracks in order to adjust my microphone audio independently of the gameplay being recorded
I believe that could be the issue but im not sure.
the audio track doesnt have any waveform at all and the file is visibile in effect just not able to be heard
What version of AE are you using? What is the sample and bit rate of the audio you are trying to playback?
There was a time when 16khz audio wouldn't be read correctly in AE, so I'm guessing that's probably the issue. If you aren't on AE 24, upgrade and that should likely solve it. Or reencode the audio to 44Khz and see if that helps.

If you are using AE 2024 then it won't be the audio rate, I expect. Can you post a file somewhere for us to look at?

Thanks - the issue appears to be that this file contains 4 channels of audio, and the audio is in channels 3 and 4. AE only supports mono or stereo files for playback. I've been looking around for a way to convert the 4 channels into a stereo file but no luck so far.
