Using HD or SSD to store Cache

Community Beginner ,
Dec 28, 2021 Dec 28, 2021

Yesterday I watched a video of a guy saying that using a separeted SSD is better for storing cache media. I wanted to know if using a HD is enough to do that, or if it's going to let my preview loading slower. For now I have a 256gb SSD, which is also my OS, so it gets full fast

Entirely depends on the type of HDD. Without any exact info nobody can answer that specifically. Even a "mundane" HDD these days has a lot of tricks to boost performance like large memory caches or specific write/ read patterns to optimize for speed.
