Weird problem with Playback stuttering

Hello, when I play a video, it lags terribly. Only when I click what’s shown in the picture does the video play completely smoothly without any stuttering, and I have to do this every time I want to play a video.

Do you have any ideas on how to fix this?

My PC specs:

• 64GB RAM 3200MHz DDR4

• Ryzen 5 5600X

• RTX 3060

I have allocated 170GB on a separate partition for cache files, but everything—including the system and files—is on the same drive. I should add that it doesn’t matter whether I set the playback quality to 1/4, 1/2, or full— it stutters the same way at every resolution

That's not ideal.

What's the version of After Effects you're using? Is it happening in all the projects? Are there any other effects being used other than the Time Remapping? Can you try running After Effects in Safe Mode with third-party plug-ins disabled and see if that brings any change?

Thanks for the reply, the version im using is 25.1.0 (build 68)

Im using only time remapping, later i want to put more effects like motion blurr and other stuff but its laggins even with just time remapping.

I opened in safe mode, disabled all plug ins (only one i had which is insta 360 keyframe)

then i reset preferences and still the same issue, i checked other projects and it works fine, i remember i had the same issue with other project, and i somehow created an new project and imported the old ae file or something like that and it worked, but the old version is still lagging like this in the video i uploaded. Its lagging but after i click spacerbar to play, and then for example click preview time it works fine, i have no idea what is the issue with this weird problem.

I agree, this is strange! 

Is this footage recorded on a phone? If so, can you try transcoding the footage and then replacing it in the project? Sometimes, media recorded on phones causes such issues.

All recorded with my camera, sony a6400, some 60fps 1080p, some projects are laggins and some are just fine, i have no idea what can be the problem

I tried recreating the problem on my end but it seems to be working fine. If possible, can you share the project file and media so that I can try to reproduce the issue on my end? Feel free to share the files via DM if you do not want to share them publicly.
