My adaptive resolution is turned off, my comp is fully rendered, my disk cache has been purged and my comp frame rate is the same as my preview frame rate. I can't figure this one out any help is appreciated!
I finally figured it out! I wasn't aware that you could set different settings for different preview shortcut buttons. My "spacebar" shortcut button was on 50 FPS and quarter quality whilst "Numpad 0" was on 25 FPS and full quality.

That actually does not look at all like the resolution is degrading, but rather the shapes slightly jittering while they move, possibly due to inadvetently having messed up the motion path. If it actualyl degraded, e.g. the white rectangle in the top right corner would completely change apperance or disappear, which isn't the case, judging from your video. Since you have cropped off the lower section of the comp viewer and the timeline, both of which may contain critical clues to what's going on, one can't really say more than that.

Thanks for the reply! I've recorded it again, this time uncropped and I draw a new shape and as you can see it does the same thing still

In the preview panel, where it says "Shortcut" you have a dropdown menu, select "Spacebar" in there and set the FPS and other settings you want below that.
