Hello, whenever I start a new project with AE something weird happens. I am no longer able to import jpg's normally (there will just be a black pictogram) which I can bypass by selecting ALL files and then just JPEG. But the weirdest thing is that I cannot export anything anylonger. It's simply black or black interwoven with some minor glitches of color (also the size of the file does not match up to the length and codec). However, when I go back to an older project the problem dissapears; I can import everything normally and exporting works fine as well. I have tried rebooting, reinstalling, unplugging external drives etcetera. I have no idea what I can do about it. I have a mid 2014 mac with 16gb ram and everything is fully updated. Hope someone can help!

Hi PimC,
Thanks for writing in.
Please check if it's happening with specific JPEG files. If that's not the case, try running After Effects in Safe Mode and test. Also, what's the version of your OS and the make and model of the CPU?
We're here to help.
Note: Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.
Thanks,
Nishu

Hi Nishu,
thanks for replying!
yes I have tried the safe mode but nothing changes. Also any jpeg or jpg has the same problem. I don't have the problem with older projects, so when I want to start a new project I just 'save as' and just delete everything else so I can start afresh. Then it works, but it shouldn't be like this of course. My cpu is a 2.2 i7 quad core I believe with a nvidia geforce 750 video card. I keep the OS updated, though I cant see it now as I don't have my laptop with me at the moment.
thanks, Pim
