Working with text layers is painfully slow in AE

Why is this happening?  No filters, just simple text on solid background.  The delay when typing in words is of 2, 3, 4 seconds long...changing font size even longer.  Other work that does not involve text layers functions normally.

Start by turning off hardware accelerated display functions. anything beyond that will require more specific info, including at least soem basic system info.

Hi Mylenium,
I'm having a similar issue, just typing into a text layer in an uncomplicated comp is wildly laggy. Wondering if you can expand your solve a bit more and explain what kind of accelerated display functions would hamper typing text into an AE layer and where to find them. Would like to try it out. Thanks.

Hi Diego5DB1 & Budd Tugley,

Which font are you using? Could you check if it's happening with a particular font? There is a similar bug in After Effects which affects performance and render time when using SF Pro font in a composition.

Let us know.

Thanks,

Nishu
