Hi there,
I'm sorry to hear about your poor experience. When transferring your project files using the hard drive, do you copy them to the system's internal memory or keep them in the hard drive? I recommend copying the project files to the internal storage. It will be helpful to know what type of source files you're working with (Format, frame rate, codec, frame size). The effects used in the project and the total number of layers also factor in the performance. Having some details about your project will help us understand the problem better.
You mentioned that some animations made in your Windows system don't play on your Mac. Are these exported files or After Effects projects? Do you see any error messages? Please let me know.
Thanks,
Ishan

Thank you very much for your answer.
I have tried both options: editing on the hard drive and editing on the iMac itself via the cloud (pCloud)
The files that don't work on the Mac are After Effects files that were created on Windows. Sometimes the error code --1609629695 is displayed (selection 17 rendering at offset 75.409, QuickTime of type Exporter)
Or it says that an error occurred during import and that the file is damaged or has the wrong format.
I can't find out exactly where the problem is coming from, as 2 After Effect files work without problems in the project. However, these are edited with text. The After Effect files that do not work contain a figure that was animated with the puppet tool.

It is clear that a better PC should come (and the boss also looks at times) but it should still work. I don't understandi t. It's not as if I had inserted videos or similar that only Windows could read (e.g. wav)
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for getting back to me. Please try saving all files and dependencies in your system's local, physical, internal storage. Files accessed through cloud or external storage devices can cause issues with read/write permissions and accessibility. If you are still seeing this issue, could you share screenshots of the error messages you see?

Unfortunately, this did not lead to the desired result either. Another problem is that the animation folder created on Windows is not recognised on the Mac. This folder is fragmented in the hidden recycling folder.
Copying it to the computer's internal hard drive did not help either. I have uploaded two screenshots. But these are also in German. Otherwise I can also briefly switch the system to English and do the workflow again
What I just don't understand is that certain After Effects files work and others don't.
In particular, files that I have worked on with the puppet tool on Windows are displayed as faulty projects on the Mac.
thanks very much for your help
