It would be fantastic, if one could set a preference for the interpretation during import. For the Fields, the pixel aspect ration and the color managment.

Should not be too complicated

Not sure what benefit there would be over the current footage interpretation mechanisms and the default interpretation rules, all of which can already be changed and edited in multiple ways. Adding yet another (potentially even more confusing) method feels redundant to me.

right now, progressiv Material with Colour Managment is assumed to be the standard.

How would be a checkbox in the preferences to specify my standard material more confusing?

I can specify the frame rate and other things there already.

@Mylenium
well, for one, I use image sequences constantly. having to change the interpretation of every one every time is absolutely abysmal. I'd rather it just brought me into the interpret menu for every image sequence because even something terrible like that would reduce the clicks and menu searching by like 60%.

having a little page like the effects dock always up so I could just change interpret settings, then import, then change, and import, would be ideal. keep it simple stupid.
