AE won't open/crashes

I have tried for 2 days now and can't get any version of after effects to even give me a splash screen. I can't open previous projects or the application standalone.  I have a lot of work backlogging now and I have no way of knowing what could be the problem let alone how to solve it.  please help.

Start by actually checking the system crash logs. Most of these blind crashes don't even relate to AE, but are rather caused by issues with the various Adobe auxilairies liek the licensing service or CC sync. That#s why as a start you should open up the CC app and check, whether everything actually works. In case of doubt, reinstall with sufficient user permissions.

That's where I started.  Everything seems fine.  licensed and updated and properly installed.  Uninstalled and reinstalled.  Works fine for other comp users with the same account.  It seems tied to this specific computer user
